Tourists travelling through Abu Dhabi Duty Free can enjoy a fantastic shopping experience this summer, making their trip that extra bit special.
The campaign in Duty Free is set to include an unprecedented amount of retail exclusives, culinary treats and promotions for shoppers at the airport.
A ‘spend and win’ promotion is in place at all of the airport’s shops, with cash vouchers to be given away to lucky winners.
Travellers who are looking to take home some traditional goods before they depart can also visit the new ‘souk’ area, which sells a range of edible treats and local handicrafts.
Local Arabian entertainment will also been on offer for passengers to enjoy, with oud players, sougha weavers and henna artists demonstrating their skills.
Sports fans will also be catered for, as lounges and food and beverage outlets across both terminals are set to show the 2016 Summer Olympics live from Rio de Janeiro.
The launch of a website from Abu Dhabi may also pique the interest of tourists, as they will be able to browse and shop online, before they even arrive at the airport.
Available on the online store will be around 1,000 of the most popular products including jewellery, watches, sunglasses, beauty products, souvenirs and fragrances.
Passengers will be able to select the item they would like and pick them up from various designated points inside Abu Dhabi Duty Free.
Products are only available for guests arriving, departing, or transiting through the airport and those who are eligible to use the VIP terminal; but online purchases can only be made between two weeks and up to four hours before a flight.
According to Daniel Cappell, acting CCO of Abu Dhabi Airports, the aim is to elevate a tourist’s airport experience by offering irresistible shopping deals and a range of food and beverage options.
The airport has a wide demographic according to Mr Cappell, however he insists special care has been taken to ensure everyone’s tastes and preferences are taken into account.
