Community Work and Charitable Giving
Questor is very much committed to investing in young people's futures in the workplace, the local community and on a worldwide scale. As a team, we deliver a whole host of charity support in the form of staff fundraising events and an online donation facility for our customers to donate to an annual charity fund.
Andrew Lawrence, CEO at Questor Insurance says: 'We are very passionate about helping others, and are very proud of our charitable achievements both in the office and collaboratively with our customers, via our donation facility.
Hearing how our monetary support changes the lives of others is very humbling and motivates us to make each year bigger and better than the year before.
In 2013 we started a charitable fund and invited our customers to donate £1.00 when they purchased a policy from us. We have been overwhelmed by the responses and generosity of our customers that have allowed us to donate nearly £6,000 since 2013.
Our chosen charity this year is:
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association
The guide dog service provides a blind or partially sighted person with a guide dog. Every person and dog is unique, so matching a guide dog to an owner is a complex process and trainers have to take into account all a person’s needs. Guide Dogs are committed to supporting the partnership and to the guide dog owner for as long as needed. A guide dog user could have up to eight dogs during their lifetime.
In December we held a company competition aptly named 'Hatty Christmas' where everyone was asked to bring in the funniest, most creative Christmas hat that they could find or make. There was a £2 fee with proceeds going into the charity pot. The winner received a hamper from Hotel Chocolat, kindly donated by the Management Team. We also held a bake sale and opened it up to other companies within our building, and also the family & friends of the Questor Team.
We have lots more fundraising ideas in the pipeline, including a Valentines themed quiz night at a local venue and an Easter bonnet & bake competition.
Keep checking back for regular charity updates!
Charities who we have supported in previous years
The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust is an independent charitable healthcare provider working with the Ambulance Service. They are not part of the NHS and are funded almost entirely by voluntary donations.

'We are delighted that Questor insurance have chosen to support Demelza. We rely on the Support of our local community to help us provide our vital services.' - Donna Wells, Corporate Partnerships Manager
'Thank you Questor for your continued support, with your help we are making a real difference to young sporting hopefuls in Medway.' - Mike Evans, Sport Officer
SolarAid is a leading international charity that provides access to clean, affordable solar light – light which protects the environment and transforms lives by freeing up vital funds for other basic essentials such as food and water. Based in London and already working in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia their goal is: to eradicate the kerosene lamp from Africa by 2020.
How is this done? They sell solar lights to rural African communities through their social enterprise, SunnyMoney. By creating a sustainable market they are able to reach even the most remote, rural African communities - creating jobs and transforming lives in the process.
'Donations made like this recent contribution by Questor Insurance, make it possible for us to offer opportunities to individuals and community organisations to help young people participate in sport throughout the county of Kent. Questor Insurance's donation will assist high level young sporting performers with the cost of specialist equipment, training, competing and traveling expenses.' - Charlotte Cornwallis
