Bournemouth is already well known as a quality destination for Brits looking to enjoy a top class staycation, and now one of the most famous hotel chains in the world has announced a new venture in the town.
Hilton Hotels & Resorts is opening Hilton Bournemouth, which will join the other 67 hotels in the company's portfolio and become its newest property in the UK.
Ray Kelvin has designed bespoke interiors and furnishings exclusively for Hilton Bournemouth in a style that is both quirky and classic at the same time.
Privately owned Property Company THAT Group owns the hotel, along with neighbouring Hampton by Hilton Bournemouth, and has been responsible for developing the project which boasts 172 rooms and panoramic views of the coast and across town.
The soaring glass structure features work by local craftsmen and artists including a collection of local Poole Pottery and a mural of Poole Harbour by artist Colin Moore.
Beaches and buzzing nightlife
Rob Palleschi, Global Head of Full Service Brands for Hilton Worldwide said: “With miles of beaches and buzzing nightlife, Bournemouth was a natural fit for Hilton Hotels & Resorts to bring its brand of hospitality and continue its expansion in the UK.
“This property incorporates cutting edge design with all the Hilton touches our guests identify with. Our collaboration with THAT Group and the opportunity to incorporate Ray Kelvin's design expertise has created a posh getaway for travellers to create memorable experiences.”
The hotel has also collaborated with THAT Group in the creation of a number of clever and unusual themed rooms that see typewriters emerge out of the walls and bowler hats hanging from the ceiling, an attempt to capture the creativity and diversity of the world of business.
Food and drink
As might be expected, food and drink are also high on the agenda and the Schpoons & Forx restaurant has been created and is overseen by renowned chef Matt Tebbutt. Fresh seasonal sharing plates offer British cuisine with a contemporary twist and there are also dishes from the tandoor and stone oven.
The hotel also has Bournemouth's highest bar which promises to be a major attraction. LEVEL8IGHT the Sky Bar offers the chance to knock back bespoke cocktails while enjoying spectacular views across the Bournemouth coast line.
