In a special promotion set to run through the next two weeks, the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) will encourage British holidaymakers to book their getaway with a member of the group.
ABTA’s Earlybird campaign, which launches this week, is now in its third year and aims to reach millions of Brits during peak booking period.
Benefits
The campaign provides information about some of the benefits of booking holidays earlier in the year and making sure that people know why it is important to use an ABTA member.
An ‘Earlybird’ hub on ABTA.com has tips and advice on how to go about booking early and also features an interactive booking map showcasing special offers from ABTA members.
ABTA's new head of Brand & Business Development, Victoria Bacon, said: “We are delighted to be running our Earlybird campaign for a third year.”
She explained that the scheme has been popular among holidaymakers and ABTA members in past years and that she expects this year to be no different.
Consumer confidence
Bacon continued: “We know that 73% of people feel more confident booking with an ABTA member and we hope that the #ABTAearlybird campaign will help provide useful booking advice and support a busy sales period.”
The Earlybird campaign includes targeted online advertising which is being aimed particularly at influential family bloggers.
As well as using social media for #ABTAearlybird, ABTA is simultaneously using print and online advertising for their ‘Travel with confidence’ campaign which highlights why British holidaymakers should ‘Look for the Logo’ and make their booking with an ABTA member.
“We encourage all members to get involved and use this opportunity to tell customers about the support, protection and expertise that their ABTA membership offers,” Bacon said.
ABTA Members will receive instructions on how to include their deals on the interactive booking map on the organisation's website. They will also be able to make use of specially created marketing materials to share on their own digital channels, one of which is a new infographic which features statistics on early bookings.
