Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines are to celebrate their expansion with a new flight schedule supplying six new daily services to travellers.
This new schedule will begin on March 28 as part of their summer timetable – offering a total of 39 return transatlantic flights between the UK and 15 destinations in the USA on a daily basis.
A memory schedule
The joint schedule between both airlines will include a total of 10 daily flights between London Heathrow and New York City. There will also be eight daily departures to New York’s JFK along with two to Newark.
Travellers flying between JFK and London Heathrow will benefit from a “memory schedule” of regular evening departures heading from New York.
Virgin Atlantic is also set to provide a second daily service between London Heathrow and Los Angeles in California. This additional service has been made possible by significant investment from the very first Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, set to open its doors in Los Angeles in April 2015.
Virgin Atlantic and Delta joined forces in October 2014 and to celebrate this, there will be three flights per day from London Heathrow to Los Angeles – expecting to carry 40,000 passengers – on an annual basis.
But the new flights don’t stop there as a second service from Heathrow to San Francisco, is set to operate five nights a week over the summer months.
These new schedules have been put in place to cater for passenger’s needs.
New ventures to be announced
The partnership is not stopping at a summer schedule, with new joint ventures set to be launched after the summer period.
A new daily Delta service is set to take off between London Heathrow and Philadelphia on April 27.
May 22 will also see a new flight trail between Manchester and JFK and a Virgin flight from Heathrow to Detroit will take place from June 1.
Joe Thompson, Director of Network and Alliances at Virgin Atlantic, commented that the firm are “very excited” to offer these brand new services operating so frequently.
If you’re planning on heading abroad this year, it’s important to ensure you have family travel insurance in advance.
