The partnership will see the creation of a new online booking platform, which the two companies say will make it easier for Qatar Airways customers to book Hertz rental vehicles. The online portal will offer rental options at destinations around the world, as well as giving customers the choice of booking rentals in either local or destinations currency.
“We are delighted to partner with Qatar Airways to deliver Hertz global car rental services via the easily accessible online travel booking engine provided to their customers,” said Michel Taride, president of Hertz International.
“We share Qatar Airways’ commitment to harness the latest innovations to improve speed, efficiency and simplicity in the travel process.” The agreement is the start of a three year partnership between the two companies, which is expected to benefit both equally.
“We are pleased to be offering our passengers an additional service option which provides ease, flexibility and convenience to book rental cars with Hertz,” said Akbar Al Baker chief executive of Qatar Airways.
“And our Privilege Club members have even more options for taking advantage of Hertz promotions for short breaks or holidays year-round.” Both Hertz and Qatar Airways are large worldwide brands, and this partnership will help both to expand their reach and services. As a result of the partnership, Hertz will have access to passengers on Qatar Airways’ extensive flight network, which links 113 destinations from its base in Doha using a fleet of 106 aircraft. But Qatar Airways will also benefit, as Hertz is one of the largest car rental firms in the world. It has 8,500 locations in 150 countries, and has a fleet of more than 500,000 vehicles. If you are thinking about renting a car for when you next go abroad, consider taking out car hire insurance to cover the excess of the rental agreement.
