Hot on the heels of the upgrade to their luxury facilities for premium flyers at London Heathrow Terminal 5, British Airways have now revealed the full extent of their new lounge at the recently built Concourse D in Dubai International Airport.
Among other features in the airline's new concept lounge, there is a special Concorde Bar for those flying in First and their guests, offering an exclusive private area environment to relax and unwind in before boarding their flight.
Space maximisation was one of the aims of the new design and architectural elements such as illuminated glass screens have been used to give customers separate spaces so they can relax, dine or even work in a calm and relaxing environment. A large framed wall mirror reflects the feature lighting to make an even more spacious perception.
Black Nero marble surfaces and European oak flooring are other high end design features in the lounge, which overlooks the airport's retail atrium.
Contemporary and stylish
British Airways' director of customer experience Troy Warfield said: “Our premium customers flying from Dubai will be able to enjoy the airline's newest lounge, featuring the exclusive luxury of the Concorde Bar for First customers.”
“Our designers have created a contemporary and stylish space for Club World and First customers to relax, dine and refresh before boarding their flight to Heathrow,” he added.
Customers can choose from a selection of hot and cold food and enjoy the impressive list of fine wines available at the Deli bar. For the first time every single customer will also have access to power and USB points throughout the new lounge so that they can re-charge personal electronic devices.
As well as showcasing the best of British design and architecture the new lounge also features artwork from established Iraqi-born artist Dia Al Azzawi. Adding more local flavour is a display of Gulf heritage images from the British Airways archive.
